The Alliance Française holds cultural events throughout the year, large and small. They are mostly in English and are open to the public. Come join us!

Events Policy

The member discount is applicable for one ticket per member.
Guests must pay the non-member price. Please note that a reservation is only confirmed upon receiving payment.

If tickets are available, the Alliance can accept payment at the door by credit card, check, or cash.

Payment:

  • Registration for Alliance Française events can be made in person at our office, over the phone, by mail, or through the web site.
  • Please make all checks payable to: Alliance Française de Portland. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Cancellations & Refunds:

  • Refunds will be automatically issued if the Alliance cancels an event.
  • If you need to cancel your registration for an event, you must do so at least 24 hours prior to the start of the program, and you will be fully credited toward a future event.
  • Refunds must be requested in writing no less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled event and will incur a 4% credit card processing fee.

Spring Term run March 30 to June 6. Given the restrictions we all face in this crazy time, the Alliance is happy to have a way for our students to continue with French. We all love the French language and culture and staying in touch with the the language is one way we can carry on with life as normally as possible.

Try out a Free Online Preview Class this Saturday class at 10:00-10:30am for Beginners or Advanced, and Intermediates at 10:40-11:15am.

Online, virtual, or distance learning – call it what you like –  is a today's way to keep up your French, see your classmates, and learn from your teachers. Headphones or earbuds are recommended.

Get together with fellow francophones for a virtual French Hour—a new, Zoom-based conversation class orchestrated by an Alliance Française teacher. Choose from core French language classes or cultural discussions. Levels range from A1 to C1. Click here for more info and to sign up.

Paris Chansons returns to Portland with a fresh, exciting program in partnership with the Alliance Française de Portland! Featuring French favorites from Aznavour, Dassin, Piaf, Macias, Adamo, Dalida to Zaz & Stromae! Plus beloved Russian & Italian classics!

Paris Chansons is an exciting French band with a global twist based in Los Angeles! Their exhilarating performances are punctuated with gypsy jazz standards as well as classics in Russian, Italian, and other languages.

Watch ABRAHADABRA, a new French film, online with the Alliance

On a ranch-style farm in south west France, Jane Cavalieri, 14, lives protected by the love of her father Ludovic and grandfather Papifou. The sudden death of her father in a terrorist attack plunges Jane into a waking dream.

ABRAHADABRA, described as a drama with fairytale, is a low budget film shot on a tablet, running just over an hour. Visit the film's official site here. This film can be viewed at home through a direct link with the distributor and will be available for viewing anytime from April 6 to April 12, midnight to midnight. In addition, a group of Alliance members will be invited to join in an online Cinema Alliance discussion led by Nathalie Gerts the following week. The film is available to all registrants. Parking Information

Street parking on SW 20th St. facing the Kamm House is limited. Free parking is available in Lot B at SW 18th and SW Columbia. Please obtain a parking pass from the office.

After 6 pm weekdays, students may park in the Willamette Dental lot at SW 20th and SW Jefferson as available.
