Celtic Culture in France: A Literary Salon

Celtic Culture in France: A Literary Salon

Join author Jacqueline Stewart as she discusses Hidden Women: A History of Europe, Celts & Freedom. Stewart examines the Celtic culture that is being uncovered today in archaeological studies across Europe, especially as it relates to present-day France. Stewart's multi-disciplinary approach pieces together a more accurate view of history from the Iron Age to the present.

Hidden Women has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious Eric Hoffer Montaigne Medal award and acclaimed for its timely significance to the MeToo movement. Stewart's book feels prescient and wise as she seeks to take back history to tell the story of the Celts who treated women with reverence and the family as the core of the community. Stewart expertly challenges the legacy of a male  hierarchy that has silenced and subjugated women.

The author is a graduate of Stanford Law School and holds degrees in French and German from the University of Michigan. She is a member of the Silicon Valley Alliance Française.

Member tickets are $5; non-member $8. Reserve your seat here for this event February 22 from 4-6 pm at Kamm House. Refreshments will be served.
