RESCHEDULED: Le goût du vin - A delicious journey through the wine regions of France
Explore and taste French wines through the lens of history and culture. Learn to read and demystify French wine labels as you discover new favorites and find hidden treasures. Wine & refreshments paired to the region will be served at each session. The seminar will be in English, with appropriate French vocabulary. The two five-week seminars may be taken in sequence or stand-alone. There is a $65 materials fee to cover wine & food for each five week seminar. This class is a reprise of the popular fall Goût du vin seminars. New wine tastings will be offered, and students will have online access to lecture notes.
Maxine Borcherding, Chef, Sommelier, and lover of wine and fine food, will guide you through an in-depth look at the wine regions of France. Maxine’s professional certifications include Sommelier (International Sommelier Guild), French Wine Scholar (French Wine Academy), Spanish Wine Educator (Wine Academy of Spain), and Wine Location Specialist (Center for Wine Origins). She recently retired from 16 years as Lead Chef Instructor at the Oregon Culinary Institute.
Hoke Harden is a B.N.I.C. (Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac) Certified Cognac Educator, a master instructor with the Wine Scholar Guild, and Wine & Spirits Instructor at Mt. Hood Community College.
