Description: This seminar offers a multifaceted look at dance from its French origins through its development in the 20th century, including visual arts and the role of the French state.
Following a celebrated seminar in partnership with PAM, we will next honor dance in partnership with White Bird as they present France's National Center for Contemporary Dance/Angers, under the direction of former Cunningham dancer Robert Swinston. For the last session of the seminar, students will attend CNDC-Angers' performance of two masterworks by the legendary Merce Cunningham: “Biped” and “Beach Birds” at the Newmark Theatre. (Ticket price included in seminar tuition.)
