Learn about and taste the great wines of the southern France on Sunday, February 16, from 3:30-5:30 at the Alliance Française,
1425 SW 20th Avenue, Portland 97201.
General admission is $45, with a $5 discount automatically applied for current Alliance members.
We are going back to the Sud de France because there are so many interesting regions and producers! This month we are pleased to
host Sébastien Rake from CorksCru Wine Merchants as he presents wines from his importing company that specializes in small,
family-run, European producers. He will have just visited with most of them before our event!
- Mas Karolina - one of their oldest producer relationships, located in the Côtes Catalanes.
- Terra Remota - a project of French couple M. & Mme. Bournezeau in Cadtalunya/Emporà, very close to the border in Spain.
- Domaine du Tave - Côtes du Rhône.
- L’Or de Line - Châteauneuf du Pape.
- Baraveou - an incredible property in Bandol.
We will taste these selections:
- Mas Karolina - Côtes Catalanes Blanc (Grenache Blanc)
- L’Or de Line - Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc
- Terra Remota - Ales Negres (Grenache Noir)
- Domaine du Tave - Côtes du Rhône (GSM)
- Mas Karolina - Côtes du Roussillon (Grenache)
- Terra Remota - Camino (Syrah, Grenache, Cab. Sauv.)
- L’Or de Line - Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge
- Baraveou - Bandol (Mourvedre)
The Alliance Wine Club meets monthly,
usually on the third Sunday of the month.
(And for the occasional bonus event.)
