Performance Blending Protest Poetry and Music
When San Francisco's protest poetry meets French music, a unique and powerful work is born. The result of a collaboration between French musician Schvédranne and American poet Agneta Falk, this project revives the bohemian spirit of the Bay Area through a hybrid show combining poetry and sound creation.
WHEN: February 8. Doors open at 6:00 PM. A cash bar will be available. The show begins at 6:30 PM.
WHERE: The Historic Kamm House
THE SHOW
French musician Schvédranne and bohemian poet Agneta Falk, widow of Jack Hirschman, present a show celebrating the protest poetry of the San Francisco Bay Area. Blending Agneta's original works with poetry from Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Jack Hirschman, and contemporary voices, the recital explores themes of intimacy, revolt, and existence.
Agneta's evocative readings are paired with Schvédranne's improvised guitar and effects. Céline Frezza joins to read translations in French, enhancing the poetry's rhythm and vitality.
This tribute highlights feminism, protest, and a disappearing bohemian San Francisco.
The event offers a sliding scale pricing structure, allowing attendees to choose a price that fits their budget. All proceeds will go directly to the artists.
