The 3rd Annual Concours de tartes aux fruits will be held from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, at the Oregon Culinary Institute, 1701 SW Jefferson Street, in Portland. Chefs from throughout the Portland metropolitan area will compete to see who makes the best fruit tart. Members of the public may attend the juried competition and enjoy tasting the tarts as well as French sparkling and dessert wines -- ticket prices are $22 for Alliance members and $25 for non-members. New this year: the event will also feature a silent auction. The tasting event, 5:00-6:30 p.m., will be followed by an optional dinner seating at the Oregon Culinary Institut's restaurant, featuring a student-prepared, four-course meal for $18. For tickets to the tart competition call the Alliance at 503.223.8388 or check the link in the Alliance bulletins.
